Hosts Odisha suffered an innings and 124-run defeat at the hands of Goa on the fourth and last day their Cooch Behar Trophy (U-19) Plate-B match at Ravenshaw University ground here today. In reply to Goa’s massive first innings total of 528 for nine declared, Odisha made 222 in the first innings to concede a lead of 306 runs.
Forced to follow on, Odisha were all out for and 182 in the second innings. Sufiyan Alam scored a century for Goa and five of his teammates slammed a half-century each.
For Odisha, Subhranshu Senapati and Subhrajyoti Mishra scored a half-century each in first and second innings respectively. Vedant Naik and Lakshay Garg played major roles in Goa’s huge victory, bagging five and three wickets respectively in the second innings. The win fetched Goa seven points, while Odisha drew blank.
